Initial Install
Download GameEx

1. Download the latest version of GameEx from here.

2. Install GameEx by launching GameExSetup.exe

NOTE: You can install GameEx as many times as you like without the need to un-install first. It will not over-write any of your current settings.

3. Go through each page clicking next until you reach the screen on the left

4. Leave a tick next to Setup and Configure GameEx to launch the Setup Wizard after the installation.

NOTE: You can run the Setup Wizard at any time by selecting Start > Programs > GameEx > Setup Wizard

Introduction

The Setup Wizard will help guide you through the setup and configuration of GameEx and emulators.

At the end of each page click the Next button to go to the next page. Alternatively you can click the Back button to go back a page.

Navigation Bar
Navigation Bar

The Navigation Bar is the Setup Wizard is straight forward. You can move forward a page or back a page, set the current page settings to default, or exit the Setup Wizard.

NOTE: When you move back or forward a page, or exit any settings you have changed will be saved.

   


Icon Key
Option Icons

Most options will have an icon to the right of them. The lock indicates a registered only feature. Both provide information about the option.

If you are already a registered user you will not see the lock.

   
Wizard Mode

The Wizard Mode allows you to select the options you wish to configure.

  • Basic Mode

    Covers the most basic options like Language, Theme Selection, Audio Settings, Video/Movie Settings, Picture/Slideshow Settings, DVD Settings, Download Emulators, Setup MAME, Basic MAME Settings and Other Emulators.

     
  • Advanced Mode

    Configure all options.

     
  • Custom

    Allows you to choose which options you want to configure.

Because this is your first time configuring GameEx choose the Advanced Mode to configure all the options.

Select Advanced then click the Next button.

 
Minimum system requirements
  • 1Ghz CPU.
  • 512MB Ram.
  • XP (SP2), MCE, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.
  • DirectX (Direct3D) Compatible Video card, capable of 32 bit color.
  • DirectSound Compatible Sound Card.
  • 1GB Free hard drive space
